| |
| Achromatic waveplate
is similar to zero order waveplate except that the two plates are made from
different materials, one plate is made of crystal quartz, the other is made
of MgF2. Since the dispersion of the birefringence of two materials is different,
it is possible to specify the retardation values at a broad wavelength range.
So, the retardation will be less sensitive to wavelength change and can

| There are often conditions
when a plane polarized beam can be undesirable, for instance, with a polarization
sensitive instrument such as a reflecting spectrometer. A depolarizer will
change the plane polarization into a mix of polarization states by scrambling
up the polarization. The overall result is to produce depolarization. The
usual depolarizer can only be used at narrow band wavelength to avoid the
big beam deviation. With our special design, our depolarizer can be used
in a wide range of wavelength and keep the beam deviation in a acceptable

lens are widely used to display a uniform straight reference line for use
in machine vision systems, alignment, construction and process control.
Union Optic successfully develops this product and provides many pieces

to make big size waveplate made of quartz crystal. It is limited by the
length of c-axis of quartz crystal. And it is also a problem to control
the quality for big diameter such as 2 inches. Through about ten years of
experience in the manufacturing of quartz waveplate, Union Optic successfully
